The second installment of our microlot series. 

A very special microlot, full natural Honduras. This is a direct trade, natural processed coffee from the farm of Juan Vicente in Santa Ana, La Paz, Honduras.

We brought this coffee in last year, and loved it so much we were able to get another single bag. What makes it even more impressive is the mouthfeel - normally coffees this bright have more of a “tea-like” mouthfeel. We noticed more chocolatey notes, this year compared to last, but we still noticed a lot more of the tropical fruit notes coming through.

Microlot Magic

This release from 2022 is built around a true microlot, meaning it comes from a single farm, single harvest, or even a single section of a farm. In an industry that often blends across regions and seasons, this is a one-of-a-kind coffee with a story you can taste. Grown at high elevation and graded as Specialty Grade, these beans are known for quality, clarity, and a serious lack of defects. It is mountain-grown, carefully handled, and anything but ordinary.

Sweetness, Turned All the Way Up

This natural process Honduran coffee from Juan Vicente absolutely floored us on the cupping table. By drying the beans inside the fruit, extra sugars develop and create bright, expressive notes that can show up as floral, citrus, or berry-like character in the cup. What stood out most to us was the sweetness. Truly next level. Even more surprising, the mouthfeel stayed full and satisfying instead of drifting into thin, tea-like territory. After production roasting, tropical fruit notes pushed forward and made the profile even more vibrant.

Roasted With Intention

Before this coffee ever hit the roaster at scale, we tested three small batches and tasted them side by side. That careful process is how we knew this microlot deserved a full release. It is a seasonal coffee and was offered in limited quantities, making every bag part of a short chapter in our lineup. The kind of coffee you slow down for. Sip thoughtfully and enjoy the ride.
