Zambia Peaberry Seasonal Release coffee bag

Our Seasonal Peaberry has a new origin. This round goes to Zambia, and it showed up bright, clean, and very ready to be noticed.

Expect punchy citrus, sparkling acidity, caramel, molasses, and a lemon-lime snap that gets louder as the cup cools.

ZAMBIA PEABERRY HAS ENTERED THE CHAT

This Zambia Peaberry is bright, clean, and easy to keep sipping. It starts with punchy citrus and sparkling acidity, then settles into warmer layers of caramel and molasses.

As it cools, the lemon-lime notes get sharper and more expressive, with a little baking spice and milk chocolate rounding out the finish. Small bean. Big personality. No need to overthink it.

WHAT IS A PEABERRY?

Most coffee cherries develop two flat-sided seeds. A peaberry happens when the cherry develops one smaller, rounder seed instead.

That little round shape can roast a bit differently, and we tend to love what it does in the cup: lively acidity, concentrated sweetness, and a clean, energetic finish.

FROM KATESHI ESTATE

This coffee comes from Kateshi Estate in Zambia’s Northern Province. Kateshi was established in 1972 near Kateshi village and is one of the country’s early coffee estates.

The lot is washed and sun-dried on patios, giving the coffee a clean foundation for all that citrus, caramel, molasses, and baking spice to show up clearly in the cup.

Kateshi Estate is also Rainforest Alliance Certified and part of a larger operation supporting local water access, schools, healthcare, and employment in the region.

WHY ZAMBIA?

Zambia’s Northern Province has strong conditions for arabica coffee, with useful altitude, proximity to the equator, and room for a range of processing styles.

This particular lot keeps things clean and expressive: washed processing, patio drying, and a peaberry grade that brings a little extra energy to the cup.

Translation: bright citrus up top, warm sweetness underneath, and a finish that does not wander off before the job is done.

THE SEASONAL PEABERRY ROTATION

Our Seasonal Peaberry changes origins as fresh crops become available. Same general idea, new place, new profile, new reason to convince yourself you needed another bag of coffee.

This Zambia release lands bright and balanced, with enough sweetness to keep the citrus from taking over the entire meeting.
